Waiting for Willow

I decided it was time for a new addition to the family! I wanted a small pet who could tag along with me - guinea pigs and rabbits are too big, while hamsters, mice, and gerbils are too small. Some research lead me to a surprising conclusion - a RAT seemed like the pet I was looking for! I'd always thought rats were kind of creepy, but learned that they are as intelligent and affectionate as dogs.

I found this post on Craig's List:

Cute 7-month old female medium-sized rat for adoption. Black with white feet and a white belly. She is a sweet girl and would make someone a wonderful pet. She comes with her cage, dishes and food. There is a $20 adoption fee for this cutie. Please e-mail me for more info. Thanks!

After emailing back and forth a couple of times, it was clear that little Willow seemed like a perfect match for me! I've had to wait a couple of days to go get her, though, due to her current mama's work schedule. That gave me plenty of time to read up on rats and I am just crazy excited to get to adopt her tomorrow!
